[ubuntu] Tablet not being recognized on USB
The Toshiba Tecra A10-124 function without any problem with Ubuntu 9.10 (KK), Ubuntu 10.04 and Linux Mint 8/9. Even the sound control situated in the front of the notebook is recognized at the installation so it\'s possible to change the volume directly...
I'm new to Ubuntu, just installed 9.04. I've figured out most of my problems using the forums, so thanks to all of you that know what you're doing and help out those of us that don't :-)

I'm trying to use 2 external Monitors connected via a dockingstation (that have a vga & dvi out) to my Toshiba Tecra M9. When taking a look to the display properties everything looks fine. All Displays incl. the internal one are detected correctly and the native solutions are preconfigured correctly.
Hi
My computer stopped responding to a Leogics pt-1001 pen tablet. It worked perfectly fine before, a couple of months back when I got the tablet but now it doesn't.
I've just installed 11.10 on my Thinkpad r61e. Everything works wonderfully except for the sound. I followed everything in the ubuntu help files, and searched the forums for similar problems and nothing worked.

I just registered to this forum to ask this question because I've looked everywhere else for the solution to this problem. Before I installed Ubuntu 9.04 on this laptop, it wouldn't recognize the DVD Drive or USB ports on Windows XP. Basically, it won't play any CD/ DVD, and won't recognize any USB device connected to it, nor charge some of them.
I have a Windows XP SP3 machine that is having trouble installing some hardware. It is a IBM eServer xSeries 205. I have not opened the machine but I get the notices every login.
If I install Ubuntu via VMWare is it possible that the hardware would get recognized correctly and I'll be able to know if they a) work correctly and b) what they actually are?
After reading an article recently (Guardian UK) comparing Windoze 7 with Ubuntu 9.10, I installed the latter on a desktop
which has now failed with hardware issues. However, I have a redundant Toshiba A100 laptop with XP installed and I was
hoping to put Ubuntu 9.10 on that and get myself up to speed with an alternative OS.
When I connect my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 per USB, Ubuntu recognized the tablet as a media player, but the folders are empty. If I try to connect the tablet with the option to turn off debugging, Ubuntu does not recognize the tablet. Thank you.
